A delicious plant-based burger served with our easy harissa paste recipe. This flavourful vegetarian condiment is made with PEPPADEW® sweet piquanté peppers.
For The Piquanté Pepper Harrissa Paste
(makes one cup)
2 red peppers, charred and peeled
2 tablespoons coriander seeds
2 tablespoons cumin seeds
1 tablespoon caraway seeds
4 cloves garlic
1/2 jar Sweet Piquanté Pepper Mild or Hot Whole
50 g Tomato paste
1 Tbsp smoked paprika
Big pinch sea salt
50 ml olive oil
For the Burger
Plant Based Patty of your choice
Tomato, Coleslaw or lettuce
Micro herbs or sprouts
The Piquanté Pepper Harrissa Paste
- Toast the coriander, cumin and caraway seeds in a dry pan for 3-4 minutes, watch them carefully so they don’t burn!
- Remove and allow to cool before grinding in a spice grinder.
- Place al the ingredients in a food processor and whizz to a smooth paste. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Transfer to a jar or serve with burgers.
Prepare your plant based patty, and assemble burger with toppings of your choice and serve with a big dollop of Sweet Piquanté Pepper Harissa paste
